自画像与黑虎
大千先生一生所作自画像不少,此幅作品为其上世纪1969年所作。从中我们可以见到,黑犬毛发蓬松长短有度,质感逼真,头部的眼鼻嘴额尤其细腻传神。大千本人的画像也线条流畅,手及头部五官的勾勒也精准入微。大千先生巧妙的将泼彩法运用作为背景,并与前景的人物、黑犬连成一气,更加突出了全画的主题,由此我们也看到了大千先生将传统绘画与近代绘画的巧妙结合。
原作于2010年由北京嘉德拍卖为4,536万元人民币。
此作精妙之处在于人物及黑虎微微飘动的毛发,尚品绣坊正是采用了最为精致灵动的“施毛针”技法,才将细如毫发,几不可见的发丝纹理表现得光芒四射,宛若真人,也赋予画面飘然若仙之感。

Self-Portrait and the Black Tiger
Mr.Zhang had painted many self-portraits in his career and lifetime. This particular one was painted in 1969. It was clearly visible the meticulous details of all the fluffy hairs of the black Tiger. The nose, eyes, and the ears of the animal were so detailed that it looks almost surreal. Mr.Zhang’s himself as depicted in this painting looked very real and natural, with very close measurement comparison to all of human features like the head, fingers, ears, nose and eyes. The detailness of all the characters in the painting are beyond imagination. Mr.Zhang used an unique painting technique of paint color spraying to form the background of the painting. It gives a sharp contrasts of all the characters and subjects to the background effectively. We can definitely see the use of traditional painting technique combining with modern painting technique in creating this masterpiece by Mr.Zhang.
The original painting was auctioned off by JiaDe Auction House of Beijing in 2010 for an amount of 45.36 million yuan.
The most unqiue aspect of this painting was the near life rendition of the moving hairs of the Tiger and all the features on Mr.Zhang’s self-portrait. Embroider took advantage of this unqiue features of the painting in bringing the painted characters and subjects to life. The detalied embroidery techniques was very revolutionary and innovative to say the least.
This embroidery theme piece was carefully selected out of the many masterpiece paintings of Mr.Zhang. It took two years to complete this delicate embroidery masterpiece.
